RN - Hospice & Palliative Care NurseEldon, IA $35,939 - $48,549 a yearFull TimeWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Registered Nurse to provide exceptional end-of-life care within home or hospice settings in the Midwest region. This role focuses on delivering patient-centered care that prioritizes dignity, comfort, and quality of life for patients and their families.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.Conduct initial physical evaluations and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Administer medications and manage symptoms following established protocols.Educate and support patients and families about end-of-life care options.Coordinate services and resources throughout the hospice process.Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and communicate changes in condition to the interdisciplinary group.Perform venipuncture or collect lab specimens as ordered.Notify pharmacy and patients regarding medications and supplies related to hospice care.Keep primary and consulting providers informed of patient status.Education and ExperienceGraduate of an accredited nursing program with current Registered Nurse licensure valid for practice in the relevant state.Previous experience in hospice, palliative, or critical care settings is preferred.Completion of hospice philosophy and care training is required.RequirementsCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.Compliance with all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.Strong oral and written communication skills.Basic computer proficiency and ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.This position offers part-time hours during evenings and overnight shifts, providing a meaningful opportunity to support patients and families through the hospice journey with empathy and professionalism.
