Senior Accounting Associate

JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Associate to join our Refined Products Commodity Accounting team. This role involves managing the validation of third‑party invoices against our financial records, ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers and vendors, and collaborating closely with trading, scheduling, and treasury departments. The position demands strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and effective communication. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Research, compile, verify, balance, and process information related to accounts receivable/payable, invoices and vouchers, and general ledger account reconciliations. Utilize accounting applications to research, compile, enter data, and prepare reports on vendor payments, vendor/customer account information, general ledger and voucher journal entries, and accounts payable/receivable. Provide information and assistance to vendors/customers and employees regarding account corrections, contracts, statements, agreements, credits, discounts, and due dates. Education Formal education in accounting courses. HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent job‑related experience. Work Experience 3–5 years industry experience recommended. Extensive experience accessing and using accounting applications and computer applications. Training and/or extensive experience with classification of accounts, accounts payable/receivable functions, organizational structure, accounting policies and procedures, company budget process, general ledger and accounts payable/receivable computer systems. Experience reading, interpreting, compiling, and preparing correspondence and reports such as invoices, vouchers, statements, contracts, budget data, check requests, reconciliations, and other accounting documents. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of natural gas industry terminology. Ability to apply basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), decimals, and percentages. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables. Right Angle experience is a plus. Licenses and Certifications None required. Strength Factor Rating – Physical Demands/Requirements Sedentary work; may involve walking or standing occasionally and lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally. Working Conditions/Environment Employee is subject to inside environmental conditions. Travel None required. Driving May be assigned a company vehicle requiring the applicable driver’s license.
