Caregiver or CNA for VA Client

Village Caregiving OpportunityWe are looking for compassionate caregivers, CNAs, and/or HHAs to join Village Caregiving's growing team! We offer a competitive wage scale and a W-2 for tax withholding purposes. The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, good customer service, and the ability to provide many levels of support to our clients in a timely manner.ResponsibilitiesProvide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eatingCompanionshipRemind clients to take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulationHelp with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, errands, walks etc.)Plan and prepare mealsAssist with physical therapy exercisePerform light housekeeping duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, dishes and laundryReport any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergencyOffer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessaryUse common sense principalsQualificationsEnjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skillsTimeliness and self-disciplineAvailability to meet client needs as requestedDependabilityAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related dutiesValid driver’s license and reliable transportationValidated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive mannerAvailable to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekendsPrior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (preferred)Willingness to enforce health and safety standardsSupportive and compassionateHigh School Diploma or equivalentExperience as a Caregiver (preferred)CNA/SRNA/HHA or completion of a CNA Program (preferred)Take pride in providing high quality careHoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
