They practice at full scope, contributing to program development and care plans in a shared governance environment to enhance patient outcomes.Roles and Responsibilities:Standards of Care: Maintains operative care standards according to AORN guidelines.Preparation and Setup: Stocks rooms, cleans equipment, and prepares supplies based on surgeon and anesthesia needs.Surgical Support: Assists with patient positioning, surgical hand scrubs, counts, and Time Out procedures.Safety and Infection Control: Identifies and addresses safety hazards, follows universal precautions, and infection control protocols.Accountability and Flexibility: Organizes tasks to meet patient and unit needs, adapts to changes, and stays current with education and policies.Required Skills and Experience:NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred OR Graduate of an Accredited 2-Year Surgical Technology program (AAS), and eligible for certification within 12 monthsPhysical Requirements:Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard).Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs.
