Substation Project Manager Location: Ann Arbor, MI, US Company: Black & Veatch Family of Companies Opportunity Type: Staff Project Only Hire: No The Opportunity The Senior Project Manager for Substation will function in a project manager capacity. You will own the bottom line for services projects encompassing HV, MV, LV, underground, and overhead transmission lines. There is also potential to own projects in distribution, private networks, and BESS. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Execute projects that have substantial impact within various communities Own a diversity of projects within the electric grid space including both innovative and proven technologies Please note: This role has 10% travel to project sites. Key Responsibilities Actively promote the safety culture. Respond to RFPs and prepare proposals for services work. Lead project team in conceptual design and procurement phases of substation projects. Manage schedule, budget, and scope of services projects. Interface between client, external stakeholders, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success. Work in both a corporate and field environment. Management Responsibilities Acts as a project manager and manages the project team. The individual team members may vary by project. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of relevant industry experience including high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage substations. Experience in multiple phases of project execution. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant degree. PE, P.Eng or equivalent professional license. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Work Environment / Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments. Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Standing, walking, talking, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, sitting for extended periods, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
