Role Description The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago, IL, responsible for overseeing daily operations, leading local teams, and ensuring high-quality restoration services. This role manages staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet project timelines and service standards. The General Manager oversees budgets, monitors financial performance, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices. Daily responsibilities include coaching and developing team members, supporting customer-facing staff, resolving escalated client issues, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, vendors, and partners. The role also involves implementing process improvements, tracking key performance metrics, and collaborating with senior leadership to align local operations with company goals and community-focused initiatives. Qualifications Experience leading operations or teams in restoration, construction, facilities management, or a related service industry, with strong organizational and coordination skills. Proficiency in people management, including coaching, performance management, conflict resolution, and building an inclusive, safety-focused work environment. Knowledge of project management practices, including planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and oversight of multiple concurrent jobs. Ability to manage budgets, analyze financial reports, and use data-driven decision-making to improve efficiency and profitability. Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle complex or sensitive client situations calmly and professionally. Familiarity with restoration, construction, or property damage processes (water, fire, storm, mold) and relevant safety or regulatory requirements is highly beneficial. Comfort with using business software and tools (e.g., CRM systems, scheduling platforms, Microsoft Office or similar) to manage operations and reporting. Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered.
