Why This Role Is Different

Most editing roles are a queue: raw footage in, competent cuts out, and someone else decides whether it worked. This one isn't. At our growth rate, creative has to scale faster than the rest of the business or it becomes the bottleneck - we already generate hundreds of millions of views from AI-driven campaigns, and every video is a brand promise made in the first three seconds. On a subscription model with the LTV we're building, a hook that doesn't land isn't just a weak post - it's paid spend burned and a customer we never met. We need someone who treats the edit as a brand asset, not a service desk.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Video Editor - IM8, to own the day-to-day creation of scroll-stopping video across every social platform: direct-response ads, organic content, and long-form brand-building films. You are a master of pacing and storytelling, fluent from high-end editorial to direct response, and comfortable taking a brief and adding your own creative spin.

Your mandate: turn raw footage into content that stops the scroll and builds the brand - every cut, every platform, every time.

What You'll Do

• Turn Shoots into Scroll-Stopping Content
• Edit raw footage into high-performing video tailored for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms
• Balance volume with quality - turn around multiple video concepts daily without dropping craft
• Range across styles, from high-end editorial to direct response, taking a brief and adding your own creative spin.

Move Fast, Stay Sharp

• Deliver polished, high-quality edits on tight deadlines while holding an exceptional technical and creative bar.
• Manage revisions efficiently - take feedback, iterate, and protect the creative vision at the same time.

Collaborate Across Creative

• Work with copywriters, designers, and the Creative Strategist to align on concept and storytelling, from initial brief to final cut.
• Keep brand expression consistent and compelling across every video touchpoint.

Stay Plugged In

• Keep ahead of editing trends, meme formats, and platform updates, then bring fresh techniques into our workflow.
• Know what's blowing up before everyone else does - and use it.

Maintain Brand Consistency

• Ensure a consistent look and feel across all video content, working within brand guidelines while finding room to push creative boundaries.

What We're Looking For

• 2-5 years in video editing, with a portfolio of polished, high-quality short-form social content that demonstrates mastery of pacing, storytelling, and advanced technique.
• Video ads produced for high-growth eCommerce brands, across both editorial and direct-response styles.
• Command of advanced editing - creative transitions, visual effects, and innovative methods that elevate content beyond standard cuts.
• Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or comparable tools, and you know how to push them to their creative limits.
• A strong grasp of social-first storytelling: what hooks an audience versus what gets scrolled past
• Genuine passion for culture, trends, and the social media landscape.

Non-Negotiable

• You have personally cut short-form content that performed at scale - not vibes, real views and real spend behind it - or a clear, specific reason why that benchmark doesn't apply to your trajectory. If you can't make that case in a sentence, this isn't your role
• You are open-minded, coachable, and able to take feedback without losing your creative point of view.

Nice to Have

• Motion graphics and 3D experience with Blender or Cinema 4D.
• Experimenting with AI tools for editing and ideation.
• Long-form / editorial brand-building video experience alongside short-form.

You Must Be AI-Native

Active, fluent daily AI tool usage is mandatory, not optional. We expect you to be embedding AI into every workflow you touch on day one.
