Chief Financial Officer - Homebuilding

SCI, the Leader in Homebuilding Executive Search, has been retained by one of Indianapolis's leading private homebuilders to recruit a Chief Financial Officer to lead all Finance & Accounting operations. Delivering 250+ homes annually, this company is backed by strong capital partners and is actively acquiring land — with plans to significantly scale operations in the near term.

This is a high-visibility, owner-reporting role for a financial operator who can manage both the strategic side — banking relationships, investor reporting, capital structure — and the execution side, overseeing a capable accounting team. The right candidate is a hands‑on leader who has scaled a homebuilding business before and is excited to do it again.

Key Responsibilities

• Banking & investor relationships — managing credit facilities, construction financing, and capital partner reporting
• Accounting team leadership — oversight of day‑to‑day financial operations, reporting, and controls
• Financial strategy — planning and infrastructure to support significant near‑term growth
• Land & project finance — supporting an active land acquisition pipeline with strong financial partners already in place

Key Requirements

• Recent homebuilding industry experience — required, not preferred
• Proven experience managing bank and investor relationships in a real estate or homebuilding context
• Comfortable in a senior, owner‑facing role with direct impact on business strategy
• Based in — or willing to relocate to — Indianapolis; this is an on‑site position
