Host – Valley Green Inn | Philadelphia, PA

Located in the heart of Wissahickon Valley Park between Chestnut Hill and Roxborough, our historic restaurant (est. 1850) offers a uniquely charming setting paired with high-volume, elevated dining service. We're hiring an experienced and professional Host to own the front door 4–5 days a week.

Core Expectations

Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times
Follow direction from managers and supervisors promptly and respectfully
Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and guests
Support team-oriented service rather than individual preferences or conflicts
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and preparedness for every shift
Maintain composure during high-volume or high-pressure service periods
Avoid disruptive behavior, gossip, confrontational conduct, or unprofessional communication on the floor
Adhere to all scheduling, seating rotation, reservation, and guest service procedures established by management

Responsibilities

Greet and seat guests according to restaurant standards and floor rotation
Manage reservations, wait lists, and guest flow accurately
Provide realistic and professional wait-time communication
Coordinate with management and service staff regarding pacing and table availability
Answer phones and assist guests courteously and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entrance, lobby, and host stand
Assist with clearing and resetting tables as needed
Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned

**Requirements**

2+ years hosting in full-service or fine dining
Composure under pressure, strong communication
Weekend and evening availability required
