Junior Buyer

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established Kanas City company seeking to hire a Jr. Buyer to join its team. This position is a great opportunity for someone with purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and balancing vendor relationships, inventory needs, and day-to-day operational priorities. The Jr. Buyer will be responsible for supporting purchasing activities across a variety of products and materials, monitoring inventory levels, issuing and tracking purchase orders, communicating with suppliers, and helping ensure products are available when needed while controlling inventory and freight costs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Create, issue, and manage purchase orders Monitor inventory levels and determine appropriate reorder quantities Review backorders and open purchase orders to identify items requiring follow-up Communicate with suppliers regarding lead times, availability, pricing, and order status Expedite orders when necessary to support business needs Partner with internal teams to resolve receiving and shipment discrepancies Monitor slow-moving and excess inventory and coordinate appropriate next steps Assist with product returns and supplier authorizations Support supplier performance evaluations and new product setup Assist with vendor negotiations and purchasing-related cost considerations Identify and troubleshoot inventory and supply chain issues Maintain accurate purchasing and order information within internal system

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

1+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory, or related experience preferred Experience working directly with vendors or suppliers Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and respond to changing business needs Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working with numbers, including pricing, percentages, quantities, and order calculations Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Strong data-entry and computer skills Customer-service mindset and professional communication style Ability to solve problems independently while collaborating with multiple departments #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
