Purpose of Position
(This recruitment series is to fill one open position within the Facilities Custodian team in the Public Works Department. To be considered qualified, an applicant must meet the minimum requirements for one of the following three levels of the Facilities Custodian positions.)
Performs custodial duties to maintain all City buildings including City Hall, the Public Works complex, the Police Department, Wastewater Complex, and other City buildings as needed. Facilities Custodian I
Grade 7 - Monthly Salary $3,830.00 - $4,873.00
Facilities Custodian II
Grade 9 - Monthly Salary $4,223.00 - $5,373.00
Facilities Custodian III
Grade 11 - Monthly Salary $4,656.00 - $5,923.00
This position may be required to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Essential Job Functions
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Cleans floors and carpeting; washes interior and exterior windows and glass doors; sanitizes all rest rooms and breakrooms; picks up and removes trash and recyclables; cleans furniture; dusts all surfaces; washes walls.
Performs minor maintenance duties on occasion at City of Redmond locations to include interior and exterior paint touchups, replacing lightbulbs, and minor landscaping duties (weeding plant beds).
Performs winter maintenance duties on occasion at City of Redmond locations. May remove snow from sidewalks or sand walkways when icy conditions occur.
Promotes an effective, responsive, and value-based organizational culture. Champions the values of the City through example and accountability. Work is reviewed through results achieved, meetings, spot checks of work in progress, and an evaluation of results achieved.
Operate a City vehicle regularly to perform custodial and maintenance duties in various City buildings.
