Strategy Senior Associate - Chief Administrative Office Data Strategy

The Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Data Strategy team serves as a strategic advisory and business management function, partnering with business leaders to translate enterprise priorities into strategic initiatives, business outcomes, and actionable recommendations, leveraging data as a key enabler of decision-making. The team operates as an internal consulting capability, supporting ‑high impact, ‑cross functional‑ initiatives that shape how data enables business outcomes across CAO and its business partners.As a Data Strategy Senior Associate, you will function as an internal consultant embedded within the Data Strategy organization. You will support senior leaders and business partners on complex, ambiguous initiatives that require strong strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and data informed decision‑ making. Your work will focus on identifying opportunities, framing options and tradeoffs, and delivering clear recommendations that bridge analytics execution with ‑longer-term‑ business and data strategy.Projects may span multiple business functions and focus areas, including data and analytics strategy, operating model evolution, AI enablement, and enterprise capability development. This role sits between analytics teams and senior leadership, acting as a translator, strategist, and recommendation driver.Job ResponsibilitiesLead well-defined workstreams on cross‑-functional strategic initiatives, operating‑ as an internal consultant to business partnersTranslate business strategy, stakeholder needs, and analytical insights into clear problem statements, options, and actionable recommendationsPartner closely with analytics, data, technology, and business teams to develop a strong fact base and understand key drivers and constraintsSynthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs to identify trends, risks, and opportunitiesDevelop executive ready‑ presentation materials that clearly articulate insights, tradeoffs, and recommended paths forwardFacilitate stakeholder discussions to clarify objectives, surface pain points, and align on success criteriaInfluence outcomes without direct authority by building credibility, trust, and strong working relationshipsOperate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces, proactively structuring work and refining scope as new information emergesManage workstream timelines and deliverables, escalating risks and dependencies as appropriateCollaborate closely with Data Strategy leaders, analytics partners, and other project team members to drive initiatives to completionRequired Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills3–5 years of experience in management consulting, internal consulting, corporate strategy, business transformation, operating model design, or similar strategic advisory roles supporting senior business leaders. This role is particularly well-suited for candidates coming from consulting firms or enterprise strategy organizations.Demonstrated ability to structure and solve complex, ambiguous business problems, developing clear problem statements, strategic options, recommendations, and implementation considerations.Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience preparing presentations, recommendations, and materials for senior leadership audiences.Proven ability to influence outcomes without direct authority, building alignment across stakeholders with differing priorities and perspectives.Experience leading or supporting cross-functional strategic initiatives, transformation programs, operating model redesigns, business process improvements, or organizational change efforts.Strong hypothesis-driven problem-solving capabilities, including structuring complex business problems, evaluating strategic alternatives, assessing tradeoffs, and developing executive recommendations.Exceptional ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise executive narratives, actionable recommendations, and decision-ready materials.Comfort operating in fast-paced, undefined environments where priorities, stakeholders, and business needs evolve over time.Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and SkillsExperience at a leading management consulting firm, internal consulting organization, corporate strategy team, transformation office, or chief of staff organization.Experience working directly with senior executives and business leaders, including Managing Directors, Executive Directors, Vice Presidents, or equivalent leadership roles.Experience supporting enterprise-wide initiatives involving strategy development, operating model evolution, governance, organizational effectiveness, digital transformation, or business modernization.Financial services, large corporate enterprise, or highly matrixed organizational experience preferred, but not required.Experience supporting strategic initiatives involving data, analytics, AI, technology modernization, operating model evolution, or business transformation.About the TeamThe CAO Data Strategy team partners closely with business leaders, analytics teams, and technology organizations to shape how data is used as a strategic asset.
