Operator I

Operator I provides necessary support to the production teams, assist machine operators with assigned tasks, maintain materials and supplies, track inventories, and package finished products. Responsibilities: Operates a forklift truck to safely deliver materials to and from the factory Reads work orders and/or follow oral instructions to determine materials to be mixed for each run Loads /unloads materials onto or from pallets, gaylords boxes, and shelves via forklift or by hand Loads resins into blenders, grinders, dryers and hoppers by hand or vacuum system Maintains and prepare packaging supplies Packages all finished products ensuring correct packaging material, labels and details, per customer specification Handles materials and inventory control using barcode scanner Assists operators with stringing lines and taking rolls off machines Assists operators with roll data entry, roll changing, changing trim, mounting unwound rolls, cutovers and cleaning the systems Assists warehouse manager with monthly inventory Maintains confidentiality of information such as formulas, supplier names, materials, process conditions and set-up information Other relevant duties as assigned Qualifications Required Education & Skillsets: Read a ruler and understand measurements in fractions and decimals Read, write and comprehend instructions and correspondence Communicate effectively with workers and supervisor Add, subtract, divide and multiply with the aid of a calculator Perform calculations that include but are not limited to fractions and decimals Use a computer for basic data entry of production and materials in database Preferred Education and Skillsets: High School diploma or GED Prior Warehouse or manufacturing experience Physical Demands: Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds Be able to work 12 hours shifts Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus Meet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial Trucks PPE Requirements: Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment including; Safety Glasses Bump Caps Protective Gloves; when performing certain tasks Hearing Protection; when required Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment.
