Store Manager

Overview As Store Manager at Five Below, you will lead the store’s management team, including the Merchandise Manager, Customer Service Manager, and all associates. You’ll be responsible for total store execution, driving sales, maintaining brand standards, and fostering a customer‑centric culture. Responsibilities Oversee operational execution and total store follow‑up, ensuring the customer experience meets brand expectations. Recruit, hire, train, and retain associates and managers, and identify internal talent for career development. Manage store profitability by focusing on sales and expense control. Ensure compliance with cash handling policies, daily paperwork, bank deposits, and all SOPs. Collaborate with District Manager and Human Resources on employee coaching, performance documentation, and associate relations. Plan and prioritize corporate communications, and approve staff schedules using Kronos. Maintain a clean, safe environment for staff and customers, including sales floor, back room, and restrooms. Authorize register operations such as voids, returns, and discounts. Execute merchandise directives, market plan, and company data integrity processes, including physical inventory. Lead receiving and stocking procedures, ensuring proper handling and storage of merchandise. Execute ad sets and follow‑up activities to promote store performance. Perform store maintenance tasks, such as waste removal, sweeping, cleaning, and stock room upkeep. Hold all associates accountable for their roles and responsibilities. Provide high levels of customer engagement and role‑model ideal behaviors. Adapt to additional responsibilities as directed by the District Manager based on store needs. Essential Job Functions Frequently operate a computer, printer, and sometimes a cash register. Occasionally ascend/descend ladders to retrieve or store merchandise. Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, especially in the stock room and sales floor. Identify and follow email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, schedules, and SOPs. Communicate with customers in person and over the phone, exchanging accurate information. Move across the sales floor to direct associates and assist customers, as well as to and from the back office. Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of management experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi‑task and think creatively. Maintain composure under pressure.
