RN - Stepdown


Job Details:


• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be taken in hour increments as needed; unit typically low censuses in 4-hour increments
• Work in a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with a fast-paced, high patient turnover environment
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Care for patients including post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute CP/MI, med/surg overflow including detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and Fem Pop Bypass
• Must be able to manage independently and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Must pass EKG test during first week of hire
• Minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience required (Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU)
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Tele experience required
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro Drips required
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Scrub color: any color

The unit supports complex cardiac and surgical patients and is equipped to handle high-acuity cases in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The facility maintains high clinical standards and requires travelers who are adaptable, resilient, and capable of working independently.
