American Life Financial Partners, LLC a rapidly growing financial services holding company, is seeking a highly analytical, hands-on, and energetic team member to join as a Suitability Principal. We operate as a modern insurance-holding company focused on long-term growth. We aim to foster and cultivate our relationships to sell and administer annuity products through third-party independent marketing organizations (IMOs).

Summary/Objective

We are seeking a Suitability Principal to join our team. The Suitability Principal will be responsible for overseeing the suitability review process for investment products and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial services, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions

• Oversee the suitability review process for investment products, including reviewing client profiles and investment recommendations to ensure compliance with industry regulations
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the suitability review process
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including investment advisors and compliance officers, to address any issues or concerns related to the suitability review process
• Monitor industry regulations related to suitability and communicate changes or updates to internal stakeholders
• Develop and deliver training to internal stakeholders on the suitability review process and related regulations
• Participate in internal and external audits related to suitability and compliance
• Prepare and present reports on suitability review activities and findings to senior management
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators and industry associations

Competencies

• Strong knowledge of suitability regulations and industry standards
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance software
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and communicate with others. This may be over the phone, in person, or through email and messaging. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk, and use their hands and fingers to work with the computer, phones, filing cabinets, paperwork, etc.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as needed to complete work and ensure operations/business is not interrupted or slowed.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience in financial services, with at least 3 years in a suitability or compliance role
