NaKorn is a neighborhood upscale-casual Thai restaurant in Evanston offering thoughtfully prepared Thai cuisine, warm hospitality and a creative beverage program. We are reopening September 11 following a temporary construction closure and are looking for an experienced Part-Time Bartender to join our team.

NaKorn is seeking a warm, dependable and knowledgeable bartender who is passionate about providing memorable experiences through genuine hospitality, thoughtful service and well-crafted drinks.

The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with guests, works calmly and efficiently during busy service, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized and professional bar.

This position will work closely with our Lead Bartender, Front of House Lead, servers, kitchen and ownership to create a welcoming and consistent experience for every guest.

• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer and nonalcoholic beverages with consistency and care

• Provide warm, attentive and knowledgeable service to bar and dining-room guests

• Manage both bar guests and service-well tickets efficiently

• Complete bar setup, preparation, breakdown, cleaning and restocking duties

• Follow established recipes, presentation and portion standards

• Maintain knowledge of NaKorn’s food and beverage offerings

• Communicate unavailable items and service needs clearly to the FOH team

• Monitor product levels and communicate restocking needs

• Help maintain an organized, sanitary and service-ready bar

• Support teammates proactively when additional help is needed

• Follow all applicable liquor, BASSET, food-safety and sanitation requirements

• Uphold NaKorn’s standards for hospitality, teamwork, cleanliness and professionalism

This role is ideal for someone who:

• Has at least one year of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant

• Has knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine and beer

• Is comfortable serving both bar guests and producing drinks for the dining room

• Works with confidence, efficiency and attention to detail

• Remains calm, organized and professional during busy service

• Communicates clearly and respectfully

• Notices what needs to be done and takes initiative

• Is dependable and arrives prepared and on time

• Welcomes feedback and enjoys working collaboratively

• Is interested in becoming a consistent, long-term member of our team

Experience in an upscale-casual or chef-driven restaurant is preferred but not required.

Current BASSET and food-safety certifications are required or must be obtained before beginning work.

This is a part-time position requiring dependable evening and weekend availability. We gladly accommodate requested time off with advance notice, but applicants should be able to commit to a consistent ongoing schedule.
