Class B Roll Off Driver

Job Overview Drivers are responsible for safely operating front, side, or rear‑loading truck, for the pick‑up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material. Drivers transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycle facility, and may make one or more trips throughout the shift. Drivers are also required to complete pre‑ and post‑inspection of the truck and ensure compliance with IWS safety standards, OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws. Salary & Benefits Hourly Pay rate Paid Overtime Medical, Dental & Vision Health Benefits Life Insurance Paid Vacation, Holidays & Personal Days All Drivers are Members of a Union and benefits will be provided as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement IWS is committed to providing a world‑class workplace to all employees We invest continually in equipment and many trucks are less than 2 years old Job Highlights Drivers are responsible for safely operating front, side, or rear‑loading trucks for the pickup service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material Drivers transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycling facility and may make one or more trips throughout the shift We deploy both manual and automatic trucks The position may require repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds, moving or maneuvering up to 100 pounds, and mounting and dismounting the truck multiple times each route Requirements 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States Valid Class A or B CDL Airbrake endorsement One year of CDL driving experience in the last seven years Clean MVR Experience as a Driver or Helper for a waste recycling company is highly preferred Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA and applicable traffic regulations Ability to speak and read English to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions and make legible entries on reports and records Read and understand a map Meet the physical and safety requirements of the position Willing and able to work required hours as allowed under DOT regulation and may include weekend, night or holiday work Additional Job Requirements Routes may require navigating through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential for successful performance of this job Drivers routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts #J-18808-Ljbffr
