About the Role:

The Housekeeper for a Senior Living Community plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. This position ensures that all common areas, resident rooms, and community are thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained to promote health and well-being. The housekeeper contributes to the overall quality of life for seniors by providing a hygienic and welcoming atmosphere. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and sanitation standards are critical to prevent the spread of illness and to support residents' comfort. This role requires compassion, reliability, and a strong work ethic to meet the unique needs of a senior living community.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in housekeeping or environmental services.
• Experience working with elderly populations or in assisted living facilities.
• Knowledge of infection control standards and protocols.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing resident rooms and common areas.
• Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored properly according to facility guidelines.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed during cleaning to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Follow infection control protocols and use personal protective equipment as required to protect residents and staff.
• Assist with laundry duties, including washing, folding, and distributing linens and residents' clothing as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Provide respectful and courteous interactions with residents, staff, and visitors at all times.

Skills:

The required skills enable the housekeeper to efficiently and safely perform cleaning duties while maintaining a high standard of hygiene essential for senior residents' health. Attention to detail ensures that all areas are thoroughly cleaned and any potential hazards are identified and reported promptly. Communication skills are used daily to coordinate with team members and respond to residents' needs respectfully. Preferred skills such as knowledge of infection control and experience with elderly populations enhance the housekeeper's ability to provide specialized care and maintain a safe environment. Physical stamina and the ability to manage time effectively allow the housekeeper to complete tasks efficiently while adapting to the dynamic needs of the community.

Wage Range is:

$15.93 per hour to $17.41 per hour.
