Patient Care Tech (PCT) - Medical Unit - PRN - Nights

Medical/Surgical Care Position
Compensation: $14.29-$23.34/hr based on previous work experience. PRN differential $1.75/hr. Evening differential $1.50/hr. Night differential $1.75/hr. Weekend differential $1.75/hr.
Our medical team provides medical/surgical care to adult populations with a wide variety of complex medical conditions. We focus our efforts on restoring optimal physical and mental well-being in each unique situation with a constant goal of maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our patients. Our unit consists of 16 med/surg tele beds and provides post-op colorectal surgical care.
Job Summary
- Provides basic patient care
- Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment
- Takes and records vital sign (VS) data and relays to patient's nurse
- Provides general nursing care and routine treatment/procedures
- Facilitates processing of patients
- Provides clerical receptionist support
- Provides coordinating support
- Performs additional duties related to the specific needs of the department
Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent GED
- Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant
Experience:
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure/Certification:
- Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment
- Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
