Electrical Engineering Manager – New Orleans, Louisiana NES Fircroft is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer for a management position at our client's corporate location in New Orleans, Louisiana. This direct‑hire role targets individuals with a background in mining, material handling, or metallurgy processing facilities. What you will do The primary purpose of this role is to manage an Electrical engineering design team at the NOLA Project Office through the planning, design, and execution phases of a portfolio of capital projects. Managing the team to ensure consistent application of codes, standards, and best practices across projects. Developing and implementing fit‑for‑purpose solutions for projects ranging from small operational support to large‑scale capital. Maintaining a culture of continuous improvement, standards, and best practices. Ensuring projects have appropriate Electrical resources and regularly assessing team structure. Overseeing engineering processes, systems, and software setup, and coordinating quality audits for compliance. Guiding project‑level deliverable development, budgets, and schedules while ensuring alignment with other disciplines. Collaborating with Procurement, Construction, and Operations to maintain execution alignment and contribute to risk assessments, design reviews, and safety initiatives. What you bring to our client Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline and 10 years of experience in the engineering field. OR Master’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline and 8 years of experience in the engineering field. AND Experience managing design engineering teams on large‑scale projects. Preferred Qualifications Deep expertise in electrical engineering design, including delivery of design and execution across complex projects. Experience as an Electrical Engineering Department Manager, leading engineers, designers, and drafters, with ability to coach, mentor and drive performance. Expertise in scoping projects and developing electrical engineering execution strategies, including planning, sequencing, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams. Significant experience in a Design (home) Office for an Engineering Firm or major EPC company, exposure to full project lifecycles. Background in mining, material handling, or metallurgy processing facilities, including field experience supporting construction phase. Advanced knowledge of engineering systems, project controls, and industry standards, with ability to manage stakeholders, solve complex technical challenges, and integrate engineering with procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
