Role Description The Primary Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based at Valor Behavioral Health in Atlanta, GA. This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive clinical assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy for adults in outpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings. The Primary Therapist coordinates care with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other team members to ensure integrated, client-centered treatment. Daily responsibilities include documenting clinical services, maintaining accurate and timely records, and participating in treatment team meetings and case reviews. The Primary Therapist also provides crisis intervention, supports discharge planning and aftercare coordination, and actively contributes to a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Treatment Planning and Case Management to develop and manage individualized, goal-oriented care plans. Candidates should possess experience in Social Work and Chemical Dependency to address psychosocial needs and substance use concerns effectively. Candidates should possess expertise in Dual Diagnosis to treat co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in an integrated manner. Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field; relevant state licensure or licensure-eligible status (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT) preferred. Experience in outpatient, PHP, or IOP behavioral health settings, with demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing). Strong clinical documentation skills, proficiency with electronic health records, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
