Surgical Technologist
Health Care Administrators Association® (HCAA)
Role: Surgical Technologist, assisting in perioperative nursing care, preparing patients and sterile fields, and supporting surgical team members. Responsibilities Function as a scrub assistant by setting up trays, passing instruments, and maintaining sterile technique. Operate surgical equipment, prepare operating room supplies, and assist with specimen labeling. Support patient preparation, manage OR cleanliness, and assist with instrument sterilization. Transport patients, maintain records, and help orient new staff. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent; AAS in Operating Room Technology preferred. Certification by the Association of Operating Room Technicians or CST credential required. Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment essential.
