Nurse PractitionerThe Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing quality care to patients while under the supervision of a licensed physician.These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.Practice medicine within the scope of license, training, and credentialingPractice medicine in accordance with the current standards of carePractice medicine in accordance with the quality criteria adopted by the Medical Staff BylawsPromote a safety-conscious workplaceEvaluate and follow up with patientsComplete patient charting and all required paperwork in a timely mannerParticipate in the development and/or review of office policies and support the Practice Manager in their dutiesDemonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served by demonstrating a strong working knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life spanCommunicate appropriately with the person served, regardless of ageAttend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-servicesDemonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient careReports to: CRMG Practice Administrator and/or Supervising Practice PhysicianSupervises: NoneTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and Experience:Minimum Required Education: Graduation from an accredited Physician's Assisting program with successful completion of the National Certifying Examination administered by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with successful completion of the National Certifying Examination.Preferred Education: Not applicableExperience: 2+ years as a Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner, is preferredApplicant must possess a current, unrestricted license to work as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or the State of North Carolina, a current DEA certification without restrictions, and BLS.
