Senior Substation Design Engineer

Leading the design of high-voltage substations, the full-time Senior Substation Design Engineer will serve as a technical subject matter expert, developing innovative engineering solutions and mentoring junior engineers while working remotely or in a hybrid capacity from various U.S. locations. Key responsibilities Design power utility substations, including general arrangements, equipment layouts, and grounding plans, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and client standards Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors to ensure successful project execution and resolve technical issues Provide technical mentorship and oversight to junior engineers, reviewing calculations, drawings, and specifications for quality and compliance Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution 7-10 years of experience in substation physical design engineering Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Strong document management and organization skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
