Power BI Developer

Job Location – Whippany, NJ (Day One Onsite – Hybrid) Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards. Gather business requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions. Develop and optimize data models using star and snowflake schemas. Create complex DAX calculations, measures, KPIs, and business metrics. Develop and maintain Power Query (M Language) transformations. Connect Power BI to multiple data sources including SQL Server, Azure, Oracle, SAP, Excel, APIs, and cloud platforms. Optimize report performance and troubleshoot data‑related issues. Build and manage data refresh schedules, gateways, and security models. Implement Row‑Level Security (RLS) and ensure data governance compliance. Collaborate with business users, data engineers, analysts, and project teams. Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and technical specifications. Support production deployments and provide ongoing enhancements. Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions). Strong knowledge of Power Query (M Language). Experience with SQL and relational databases. Expertise in data modeling and dimensional modeling concepts. Understanding of ETL/ELT processes. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Fabric is preferred. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts. Familiarity with REST APIs and cloud data sources.
