Therapist - Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing advanced respiratory care to a diverse patient population, including infants, pediatrics, and adults. This role involves managing ventilatory support, conducting pulmonary function tests, and ensuring optimal oxygen therapy in a level 2 trauma and NICU-certified facility.

Responsibilities:

• Manage non-invasive and invasive ventilation therapies, including arterial lines and arterial blood gases.
• Perform bedside pulmonary function tests, capillary blood gases, and patient education.
• Administer aerosol treatments, manage oxygen delivery, and monitor respiratory status.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive respiratory care, especially in trauma and NICU settings.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately within the Epic and Viasys Vela systems.
• Respond to patient needs promptly and adapt therapies based on clinical guidelines and patient conditions.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid GA or Compact Respiratory Therapist license.
• Possess a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital setting, including trauma and NICU.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required.
• Demonstrate proficiency in managing ventilators, pulmonary testing, and arterial blood sampling.
• Previous experience with pulmonary procedures and trauma response is required.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and facility-specific protocols.
