Senior Platform Security Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Platform Security Engineer to play a key role in shaping how security is embedded directly into our platform at scale.This is a remote, home-based role open to candidates located anywhere in the United States.This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, security engineering, and developer experience, helping teams move fast while staying secure.What you'll do:Build security into the platform, not bolt it onDesign and operate systems that provide clear, accurate, and actionable visibility into vulnerabilities across cloud and container environmentsOwn how vulnerability data is collected, normalized, and surfaced to engineering teamsDrive impact at scaleImprove how security findings are correlated and prioritized, reducing noise and enabling faster remediationIntegrate security data into platforms such as SIEM and vulnerability management systemsSecure modern cloud environmentsImplement and evolve security controls across AWS and KubernetesPartner with Platform Engineering to embed guardrails, policies, and best practices into the platformEnable engineers to build securelyHelp teams understand and act on security findings with clarity and confidenceContribute to secure-by-default patterns, tooling, and workflowsStrengthen compliance through engineeringBuild and automate controls aligned with frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMPEnsure systems generate the evidence needed for audits without slowing teams downIntegrate security into the delivery lifecycleEmbed security tooling into CI/CD pipelinesStandardize how scans run and how results are reported across teamsWhat you'll bring:Experience in cloud security, platform engineering, or DevSecOps rolesStrong hands-on expertise with AWS and KubernetesExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)Background integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with SIEM or security data platformsSolid understanding of networking fundamentals (including TLS)Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or FedRAMPWhy this role:High impactYou'll directly influence how security operates across a large-scale platformOwnershipShape systems and practices, not just maintain themModern stackWork with cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, and evolving security toolingCross-functional exposureCollaborate closely with engineering, security, and compliance teamsMeaningful workHelp secure systems that support critical, real-world use casesThe reasonably estimated salary for this role at Everbridge ranges from $132,900 - $177,200 and may also include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
