Medical Coordinator

Job TitleProvide health care, consultation and assessment to individuals and employees of The ArcProvide training to individuals and staff on health topics as requested or neededAttend quarterly and annual meetings for individuals when requestedAttend Safety Committee meetings as well as other committees as assigned by supervisorAttend group home house meetings as neededSchedule medical appointments, prepare the paperwork, brief the staff on what to get out of the appointment, check completed paperwork for regulatory compliance, schedule tests & other follow upsTeach staff how to take blood pressure readings, track weight, test blood sugar, etc.Respond to after-hours medical questionsAttend Emergency Room appointments if necessaryTrack medical issues (diet, swallowing, bowel, blood pressure, sugar, weight, etc.)Oversee modified diets, create nutritious menus in accordance with restrictions and conduct informational sessionsCoordinate and conduct Medical Administration training and recertification (train staff on medication, oversee the online training database, watch staff pass medication, maintain appropriate records)Act as the Clinical Reviewer with HRSTs in the licensed programsOrder medical equipment and supplies (gloves, med cups, etc.)Oversee medications and logs, monitor for compliance, track medication changes and administer medication as necessary for the residential programWork with the primary pharmacy of the homes to coordinate the monthly exchange of house medications, obtain refill and prior authorization orders, and report documentation changes on MARS to appropriate personnelAssist in development and revision of agency policies and procedures as requestedRegister clients online for Special OlympicsAll other duties as assignedTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Current, unrestricted Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) preferred. Five years of clinical nurse experience preferred. Three years working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred.Ability to apply understanding and problem-solving skills to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
