Security Engineer - Remote/Homebased (REFGJ6) Salary: £65k - £75k + Benefits and Progression Location: Remote Due to continued growth and expansion, a leading organisation is now hiring a Security Engineer to join its dynamic and growing team. An exciting opportunity for a hands‑on Security Engineer who is technically strong, proactive, and confident operating in a fast‑paced SOC environment. Resposibilities: Monitor and investigate security events across systems, networks, and applications Respond to live incidents, including analysis, escalation, and remediation Identify vulnerabilities and systemic weaknesses through assessments and testing Review and apply threat intelligence to reduce risk exposure Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to strengthen systems Maintain and optimise monitoring, alerting, and reporting processes Participate in proactive exercises such as penetration testing and scenario simulations Contribute to continuous improvement of security operations and platform protections Skills: 2–4 years’ experience in a hands‑on cyber security role (SOC or systems environment) Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, and system hardening practices Familiar with attacker techniques, common TTPs, and detection/response tools Practical experience investigating alerts and supporting remediation efforts Proactive, curious, and determined with a problem‑solving mindset Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in IT or cyber security An excellent opportunity to join a leading organisation during a period of growth and change.
