Tech - Surgical

Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist performs sterile procedures and assists in surgical operations within the CVOR unit, ensuring patients receive high-quality surgical care. This role requires working closely with surgical teams to maintain sterile environments and support complex cardiovascular procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all surgical equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during cardiovascular surgeries, including coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, and transplants.
• Maintain strict sterile techniques and adhere to infection control protocols throughout procedures.
• Manage surgical instruments, supplies, and medications efficiently during operations.
• Document surgical procedures accurately in the Meditech system and communicate any intraoperative concerns.
• Support post-operative care by assisting with patient transfer and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.

Qualifications:

• Credentialed as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with active certification.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of hospital-based experience in cardiovascular or specialty surgical settings.
• Possess current BLS certification.
• Have experience working with intra-aortic balloon pumps, heart transplants, and complex cardiovascular procedures.
• Exhibit strong sterile technique, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Meditech documentation system is preferred.
