POSITION SUMMARY: Installs, troubleshoots, services, repairs computers and network equipment, including servers, cables, connectors, and related PC software. Instructs users in the use of PCs and networks. Some overtime and weekends may be required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Hardware/Software configuration, support, installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting of PCs, laptops, desktops, and servers. Support and troubleshoot customer-owned laptops, including hardware diagnostics, OS issues, and software conflicts. Network troubleshooting such as basic IP issues and configuration within Windows OS. Troubleshoot wireless networks. Install and configure both proprietary and off-the-shelf software such as MS Office and Adobe. Interface with customers internal/external to schedule and provide service for supported platforms. Provide remote assistance and troubleshooting using various remote tools. Install, troubleshoot, and repair printers and print servers. Manage user accounts in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, or similar platforms (create, modify, deactivate). Deploy and maintain antivirus/endpoint protection tools; respond to security alerts. Track and maintain inventory of hardware, software licenses, and warranties. Log, prioritize, and resolve support tickets within defined SLA timeframes using a helpdesk ticketing system. Liaise with third-party vendors for warranty claims, hardware repairs, and software support. Configure and troubleshoot mobile devices (iOS/Android), including MDM enrollment. Create and maintain knowledge base articles, how-to guides, and standard operating procedures. Set up workstations, accounts, and software for new employee onboarding. Educate end users on cybersecurity best practices, including phishing awareness and password hygiene. Coordinate and communicate with other teams throughout the organization. Research, recommend, and implement new technologies to meet business objectives. Perform additional duties as needed. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 1. Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience is required. 2. Ability to stay current with changes in technology through independent research and discovery. 3. Assess new technologies for applicability to Hawthornes System needs 4. Strong Windows OS familiarity including but not limited to Windows 10 and Windows 11 5. Strong knowledge of standard apps such as MS Office and Outlook 6. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 7. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines. 8. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to take direction. 9. Must have a valid California Class C Drivers license. 10. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Walking and moving about in an office environment Handling: Picks up items, helps, or works with hands. Lifting: Ability to lift 50 lbs. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist. Vision: Read work tickets and repair manuals. Talking: Communications by radio, phone, and in person. ENVIRONMENTAL: Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise. Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment.
