JOB TITLE: Custodian, 2nd Shift ($14.65/hr)


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


1.Knowledge in the area of cleaning and the appropriate use of equipment and/or chemicals assigned for specific duties
2.Some aptitude for repairing.
3.Physical ability for lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
4.Demonstrate initiative for cleaning assigned areas.
5.Accept oral or written communication from supervisor.
6.Ability to communicate with co-workers and professional staff.


REPORTS TO: Head Custodian, Facilities Manager


Job Goal:
1.To thoroughly learn the specific duties of the position
2.To maintain a clean, healthy environment for students, faculty, and visitors
3.To keep the building clean and in good repair
4.To maintain the grounds


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Vacuum carpeted areas
2. Dry mop and wet mop appropriate areas
3. Clean all lavatory fixtures
4. Collect and dispose of refuse
5. Clean chalk boards, chalk trays, and white boards as needed
6. Clean all glass areas including mirrors and window sills
7. Remove snow/ice from sidewalks
8. Remove refuse, mow, and trim grass areas immediate to the building
9. Prepare gymnasium and other areas for use by outside groups
10. Lock all interior and exterior doors before leaving
11. Keep all unoccupied classrooms and custodial closets locked
12. Assist the head custodian in making repairs
13. Remove any spills or stains from floors, stairwells, and hallways
14. Dust bookshelves and counter tops in classrooms
15. Clean classrooms nightly
16. Clean gym area
17. Clean locker rooms
18. Perform all other related duties as assigned by the head custodian or building principal. If you are offered a position with the Littlestown Area School District, please be advised that the following information will be required before you are able to begin working:
