Location: West Des Moines, IA (Hybrid)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week following onboarding. Initial onboarding period may require up to 5 days onsite.
Duration: 6-Month Contract with potential extension and possible conversion to full-time employment.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Lead Business Execution Consultant to support a strategic portfolio of Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives within Unsecured Lending Operations (ULO) . This role is focused on translating business strategy into execution by providing operational planning, program coordination, project management, and stakeholder engagement across complex, cross-functional initiatives.

This is not a software development or AI engineering position . The ideal candidate will be an experienced business execution leader who excels at bringing structure to ambiguous initiatives, driving accountability across diverse teams, and ensuring successful delivery from planning through implementation.

The consultant will partner closely with Operations, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Change Management teams while supporting enterprise AI adoption efforts.

Responsibilities

Program Execution & Planning

• Translate strategic AI priorities into actionable project plans, milestones, deliverables, ownership models, and timelines.
• Lead day-to-day execution across multiple AI-related initiatives, pilot programs, and operational readiness activities.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, action trackers, decision logs, risk registers, issue logs, and dependency maps.
• Establish scalable governance frameworks, execution routines, templates, and reporting processes to support a growing portfolio of AI initiatives.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Coordinate activities across Operations, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Change Management, and other business partners.
• Facilitate working sessions, stakeholder meetings, and project reviews while documenting key decisions and action items.
• Drive accountability and alignment among teams operating in a highly matrixed environment.

Risk Management & Issue Resolution

• Proactively identify execution risks, resource constraints, competing priorities, and dependencies.
• Escalate issues with clear summaries of business impact, recommended actions, and available resolution options.
• Monitor project health and ensure timely mitigation of risks that could impact delivery objectives.

Implementation & Change Readiness

• Coordinate business requirements, testing activities, implementation readiness efforts, training dependencies, communications, and operational transitions.
• Support pilot programs, proofs of concept, and post-launch adoption activities.
• Partner with internal technology program teams to ensure business and operational readiness requirements are met.

Executive Communications

• Develop executive-level presentations, status reports, and communications that clearly articulate progress, risks, dependencies, key decisions, and next steps.
• Provide leadership with visibility into initiative performance and delivery status.

Required Qualifications

• Significant experience leading complex business execution, operational planning, transformation, program management, or project management initiatives.
• Proven success managing multiple cross-functional workstreams with competing priorities and interconnected deliverables.
• Demonstrated ability to convert ambiguous business objectives into structured execution plans and measurable outcomes.
• Strong project management expertise, including:

  • Decision management
  • Executive status reporting
• Experience influencing stakeholders and driving accountability without direct reporting authority.
• Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create executive-ready presentations and communications.
• Ability to work independently, anticipate challenges, solve problems proactively, and maintain momentum in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working within large, complex, and highly regulated organizations.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, and project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting AI, automation, digital transformation, process improvement, or technology implementation initiatives.
• Background in financial services, consumer lending, servicing, collections, contact centers, or operations environments.
• Experience supporting pilot programs, business requirements gathering, testing, implementation readiness, and post-launch operational transitions.
• Experience partnering with Operations, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Change Management organizations.
