Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for providing high-quality care in a large volume ED with high acuity patients. This position covers a 17-week contract for holiday coverage.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications using barcode scanning
• Manage medication drips
• Provide blood product administration
• Perform triage and pass hospital's Triage Test
• Set up chest tubes and arterial lines
• Assist with trauma and code cases
• Perform splinting and use bipap/vents
• Apply a good understanding of ESI
• Demonstrate pediatric emergency medicine experience
• Utilize knowledge of Point of Care Labs

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a large volume ED with high acuity patients
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
• Proficient with Epic EMR
• Flexibility for weekend rotation every other weekend
• Willingness to work without floating
