Kitchen Assistant

At Rose Bakery, the Kitchen Assistant supports the Caf Manager in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen. Responsibilities include assisting with inventory control, managing garbage removal, and ensuring that health and safety standards are consistently followed throughout the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation of food preparation areas in accordance with safety and hygiene standards.
• Properly storing and washing all cooking appliances, utensils, dishes, etc.
• Aiding in meal preparation tasks including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping.
• Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls.
• Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.
• Transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the team's instructions.
• Able to properly maintain Barista station with supplies and execute the drink menu daily.

Key Requirements:

• Prior experience working within a restaurant, caf, or other hospitality sector preferred.
• Strong comprehension of food safety and sanitation protocols.
• Understanding of food preparation and storage requirements.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long period of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
