Job SummaryThe Manager, Expense Governance & Controls is responsible for ensuring that enterprise cost savings are fully captured, sustained, and protected from leakage. This role strengthens financial discipline through structured governance, spend controls, and integration of savings into budgets, forecasts, and operational processes.This leader will serve as a key steward of cost integrity, partnering closely with Finance, FP&A, Procurement, and business leaders to embed lasting controls across the organization.ResponsibilitiesMaintain the official enterprise savings trackerReconcile initiatives to the P&L to confirm financial realizationIdentify slippage, reversals, or leakage risksConduct deep-dive expense analysis to uncover variance driversImplement and monitor spend approval thresholdsEnforce vendor, contract, and purchasing controlsStandardize procurement and purchasing channels to ensure complianceEmbed validated savings into annual budgetsAdjust forecasts to reflect run-rate reductionsReview and challenge incremental spend requests against cost discipline standardsFacilitate recurring cost governance review forumsPrepare executive performance materials and savings reportsTrack commitments, decisions, and follow-through actionsEmbed cost controls into financial systems and operational platformStandardize cost management workflowsDevelop and maintain cost governance playbooks and documentationQualifications5–8+ years of experience in FP&A, PMO, Finance, Accounting, Procurement, or related disciplinesStrong governance, controls, and process orientationHigh attention to detail with strong analytical rigorAbility to enforce standards while partnering effectively across functionsComfortable operating in structured, accountability-driven environmentsPhysical Demands / Working EnvironmentComfortable working in an office settingNot the right fit?
