Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Production SupervisorBrownsville, TXOverviewThe Production Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight, supervision, training, development, and support of our production and material handling employees. They are also responsible for providing oversight, guidance, support, and indirect supervision for shift maintenance support staff. The production supervision duties are mostly hands-on and direct in nature and require that substantial time be spent on the plant floor working closely and directly with all shift employees. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safety of employees and visitors, the quality of products, efficient utilization of labor, and operation of equipment, technical problem solving, elimination of waste, and continuous improvement.Essential Functions & Key ResponsibilitiesManage, direct and coordinate all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining qualityTypically supervises 40 plus employeesCoordinate with Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are achievedCarry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring & training employeesPlanning, assigning & directing workAppraising performanceRewarding & disciplining employeesAddressing complaints & resolving problemsEnsure all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basisSupport & improve upon Quality initiatives designed to meet plant goalsEnsures safety programs are implemented effectively, reviewed regularly and revised as necessaryRequirementsBA/BS degree preferred (business, engineering)2+ years of manufacturing supervisory experienceGood verbal & interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work well in group situationsAbility to deal effectively with conflict in mature & consistent mannerGood computer skillsSAP experience preferredCompensationA reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000 - $80,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
