Gas Distribution System Engineering Analyst

12 month contract in Michigan with potential for extension or conversion Areas of interest in the Southeast region (Livonia, Macomb, Royal Oak), and also support other locations as needed.

Job Description Duties Contractors must, at minimum, obtain an OSHA 10-hour Construction Certification. Considering that we operate in Michigan, MIOSHA Part 9 regulations must be met. Location The assigned location will be discussed during the interview and may vary based on the candidates’ proximity to planned construction locations. Areas of interest are 3 candidates in the Southeast region (Livonia, Macomb, Royal Oak), and also support other locations as needed. The expectation is that the worker would be available onsite five days per week. There may be opportunities for OT at times during the busy season. No per diem will be offered for this role. Candidates must be willing to relocate at their own expense if they are from outside the driving area. The expectation will be that they are able to start onsite on day one. In this role, you will: Leverage GIS and GPS technologies to collect as-installed and existing asset information on construction projects for purposes of records development. Support complex construction concerns where positional relationships are required. Develop, maintain, and apply documentation processes associated with integrated systems including hardware, applications, protocols, detailed point lists and revision control associated with GIS and GPS technology implementation. Participate in meetings or demonstrations as necessary such as Operating Reviews, technology field demonstrations, pre-construction meetings. Travel is required to job sites and project meetings and may vary dependent upon location. Willing to work additional hours, as necessary, to meet deadlines. Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary. Utility locating. Skills The knowledge and skills involved with this position include but are not limited to: Technical understanding of construction, design, and record development of natural gas distribution systems and principles, including construction print reading, understanding of construction and safety practices, and regulatory requirements. Ability to coordinate project(s) needs and priorities simultaneously. Communication and Presentation Skills Global Positioning System (GPS) antenna hardware and software usage Understanding of Surveying Control practices Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software understanding. ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and Field Maps Familiarity with Natural Gas Distribution systems. Teamwork, analytical thinking, and willingness to learn new topics Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMs, etc.) Education Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of there (3) years of related applicable work experience
  • OR) Associate degree with a minimum of six (6) years of related applicable work experience
  • OR) High School Diploma with a minimum of ten (10) years of applicable work experience
Utility Locator Experience Training requirements. This applies for both the Jr. and Sr. roles. To be discussed on supplier call. Excavation Safety (Ladder Safety) Traffic Control Additionally, there is specific equipment that the analysts will be required to carry. Ladders, GPS antennas, Ipad, laptop, rod extensions, paint, personal protective equipment, etc. In addition the vehicles will be on construction sites on and off road. #J-18808-Ljbffr FastTek Global
