A-Line Staffing is now hiring a  Prior Authorization Pharmacist (Remote)! This Pharmacist role is supporting a respected healthcare organization and offers strong long-term potential. See additional details below.

Pharmacist Highlights

• Pay:  $53.00/hour (W2)
• Schedule (after training):   Sun–Thurs or Tues–Sat (must work  one weekend day each week )
• Shift options (CST): 10:30am–7:00pm, 11:00am–7:30pm, or 11:30am–8:00pm
• Training:   Oct 12, 2026 – Nov 25, 2026 , Mon–Fri 8:00am–4:30pm CST (required attendance)
• Start date:   October 12, 2026
• Duration: ~48 weeks (projected through  Sep 11, 2027)
• Work arrangement:   Fully remote (no onsite requirement)
• Remote location: Continental U.S. only ( excluding New Mexico and Colorado )

Pharmacist Responsibilities

• Review prior authorization requests and make coverage determinations using clinical criteria and plan guidelines
• Verify coverage/eligibility and evaluate clinical documentation for medical necessity
• Communicate approval/denial/incomplete decisions clearly and timely to providers and other stakeholders
• Handle high-volume provider interaction (~50 calls/day )
• Manage daily prior authorization workload (~40 cases/day )
• Collaborate with technicians/PA team to collect clinical/medical data and resolve escalations
• Document all reviews, decisions, and communications thoroughly and accurately
• Maintain knowledge of drug/disease states (specialty and non-specialty pharmacy programs)

Pharmacist Requirements

• Active Pharmacist license (required)
• 2+ years prior authorization review experience (required)
• PBM / Managed Care / Health Plan experience (strongly preferred)
• Specialty pharmacy experience (plus)
• Strong communication + documentation skills; comfort with high-volume workflow
• Basic computer proficiency (required)
• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Must have a private, secure work area (conversations/screens/documents cannot be overheard/seen by others)

Remote/Technology Requirements

• Provide your own high-speed internet ( minimum 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload )
• Smartphone required (VPN token use)
