Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 3X12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday (hours/days variable depending on unit needs) with holiday rotation.

Job Description: The Sterile Processing Manager is responsible for the strategic, operational, and regulatory oversight of the Sterile Processing Department. This role ensures the safe, timely, and compliant reprocessing of surgical instruments and medical devices to support procedural areas across the organization. The Manager leads daily operations, staffing, quality assurance, infection prevention practices, and continuous process improvement while maintaining adherence to AAMI, AORN, CDC, and Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage all SPD operations, including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, case cart management, and distribution.
• Ensure consistent workflow to meet OR and procedural volume demands, minimizing delays and turnaround times.
• Provide leadership and supervision for SPD Supervisors, Lead Technicians, and Non-Certified Technicians.
• Develop and implement staff education, competencies, certification support, and cross-training programs.
• Oversee biological monitoring, sterilization records, and documentation accuracy.
• Optimize labor productivity and reduce overtime through efficient scheduling and workload balancing.
• Evaluate cost-saving opportunities while maintaining patient safety and quality.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sterile processing.
• Prior supervisory experience is required.
• Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems is preferred.
• National Certifications: CBSPD and/or CRCST required.
• Knowledge of sterilization principles, microbiology, and infection prevention practices.
• Level I Trauma experience is required.
