The Customer Service Specialist makes an impact by - Perform all responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative position, including customer communications, data entry, order processing, and inventory management. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designated departmental processes, systems, and procedures, providing guidance and support to team members. Investigate and resolve escalated or second-level order and delivery issues for all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) accounts. Audit, reconcile, and verify product movement and inventory transactions to ensure accurate deliveries, inventory records, and customer billing. Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing solutions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Act as a resource for training and onboarding team members on departmental processes and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, improve workflows, and support business objectives. Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations. Comply with Safe Quality Foods (SQF) food safety and quality standards. Perform all other duties as assigned. You could be a great fit if you have these things - High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in customer service, a call center environment, or a related field. Previous experience in an advanced customer service role, or demonstrated progression of responsibilities and scope within prior positions, preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple systems and applications. Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting where noise levels can be high (PPE required). The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8+ hours. The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks. Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks. The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment. Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required. Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus. Ability to lift 20 pounds and/or push/pull 20 pounds on a regular or occasional basis. Must have ability to travel to clients, customers, or other work sites by a variety of transportation methods.
