Vice President - Fund Accounting

Overview

An established investment management organization is seeking a Vice President, Fund Accounting & Oversight to support its investment products and fund operations in New York City. This role will oversee fund accounting, net asset value (NAV) governance, and transfer agency activities, working closely with third-party administrators and other external service providers to maintain accurate reporting, strong controls, and effective operational processes.

The position will partner with internal Finance, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Product teams while overseeing financial reporting, regulatory compliance, fund governance, and service provider performance. The individual will also contribute to new product launches, operational risk management, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily, monthly, and annual fund accounting activities performed by third-party administrators.

Review NAV calculations, portfolio valuations, expense accruals, and financial reporting.

Monitor service provider performance against service-level agreements and contractual requirements.

Coordinate audits, financial statement preparation, and regulatory reporting.

Support new fund launches and the implementation of investment products.

Oversee transfer agency activities, including subscriptions, redemptions, distributions, and shareholder servicing.

Monitor transfer agent controls, performance metrics, and operational compliance.

Identify operational risks, manage escalations, and oversee remediation efforts.

Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Product teams on fund operations and regulatory requirements.

Support fund governance, board reporting, and trustee materials.

Maintain fund operations policies, procedures, and oversight frameworks.

Conduct due diligence on third-party service providers and lead process improvement initiatives.
