Ruby on Rails Developer

Software Developer

Long Term Contract - On Site for Six Months, then hybrid

Develop secure, web-centric applications for employees and external stakeholders using a variety of frameworks, especially Ruby on Rails.

Work with business users to assist in developing application requirements and in writing end-user documentation.

Work in a test-driven development environment using a variety of tools to create automated test scripts to perform unit and regression testing.

Recognize data quality and consistency errors and recommend solutions to resolve them.

Develop close working relationships with team members to enhance everyone's technical capabilities.

Debug and troubleshoot existing distributed-systems applications.

Provide level-two application support for front-line support staff.

Requirements:

Experience developing web-based applications on Linux using Ruby on Rails (or another MVC stack).

Detailed knowledge of the software development lifecycle and experience working with various development frameworks.

Understanding of SQL and experience building complex, database-driven web applications.

Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL.

Experience with the integration and transformation of various data types.

Experience utilizing Linux shell scripting techniques such as regular expressions for the manipulation, cleansing, pattern matching and transformation of data.

Proven track record of focusing on security in all stages of application development.

Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality documentation.

Good interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact easily and cooperatively with end-users and peers.

RoR, Linux Shell Scripting, Full Stack Development and data management.
