The tree care industry hasn’t changed much in decades. You climb, you cut, you chip, you haul. Repeat. The work is hard, the crews burn out, and the best arborists spend half their career managing labor problems instead of doing what they actually love.

We’re changing that.

Dittmer Tree Service is the Quad Cities’ growing professional tree care operation — and the home base for Dittmer GroundCrew Robotics, one of the first companies in the country deploying humanoid robots as arborist ground crew.

We’re not talking about a concept or a pitch deck. We’re putting robots in the field — and we need an ISA Certified Arborist to help lead it.

What This Role Actually Looks Like

By day, you’re running crew operations for Dittmer Tree Service — assessments, pruning, removals, client communication. Real tree work, real accountability, ISA and ANSI Z133 standards throughout.

In parallel, you become a core part of the GroundCrew Robotics deployment team — working alongside robotic ground crew units, documenting what works in real field conditions, and helping shape how this technology actually gets used in the industry.

Nobody has your job title yet. That’s the point.

You’re the Right Person If You:

• Hold an ISA Certified Arborist credential (required — we verify)

• Have 5+ years of field experience, ideally as a crew lead or foreman

• Know ANSI Z133 inside and out

• Are tired of the same problems — turnover, no-shows, inconsistent crews

• Want to be known for something more than just another climbing job

• Are curious about where technology is taking this industry and want to help drive it
