Summary: The Clinical Supervisor provides day-to-day operational and clinical oversight for the Behavioral Health Therapy team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role blends clinical leadership with administrative and operational responsibilities, with a strong focus on staff development, quality improvement, and effective team functioning. This position is ideal for a clinically experienced leader who is passionate about developing people, advancing quality mental health care, and supporting a high-performing therapy team.
Responsibilities: Clinical & Operational Leadership
- Provide oversight of clinical services and workflows within the mental health therapy team.
- Support safe, effective, and evidence-based clinical practice across disciplines.
- Participate in supervisor on-call rotations as assigned.
Team Leadership & Development
- Facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings and regular huddles.
- Lead team-building initiatives and foster a collaborative, supportive work environment.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance support to team members.
- Design, implement, and maintain initial and annual competency programs.
- Partner with UNC Foundations and other professional development resources to support staff growth.
Staffing & Human Resources
- Develop and maintain effective staffing plans and triage processes.
- Manage teammate timekeeping and schedules using MyTime.
- Support recruitment efforts, including phone screens, interviews, and onboarding.
- Promote accountability, engagement, and adherence to organizational policies.
Administrative & Resource Management
- Oversee operational and supply management, including inventory control and purchasing.
- Coordinate unit programming schedules and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
- Maintain safety boards and ensure follow-up on identified action items.
Quality, Safety & Governance
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and committee work.
- Serve as a member of the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Attend, contribute to, and report out from the Psychiatry Local Quality Operations Council (PILC).
Other Information
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited and applicable therapy program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
- Licensed to provide care in a rehabilitation-related field in the state of North Carolina.
Professional Experience Requirements:
- Five (5) years of clinical experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
- Understands and applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.
$38.55 - $55.43 per hour
