Commissioning Manager

Lead the Commissioning of Some of the Largest Data Centre Projects in the Market We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a market-leading organization delivering some of the most technically complex and high-profile data centre projects globally. Reporting to the Director of Commissioning , you will take ownership of commissioning delivery across major mission-critical programmes, leading projects from design review through to operational readiness and final client handover. This role is ideally suited to a commissioning professional who has successfully delivered large-scale data centre infrastructure and possesses deep expertise in commissioning methodologies, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), operational readiness, and Commissioning Excellence (CX) frameworks. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring critical systems perform as designed, risks are effectively managed, and projects are handed over safely, efficiently and to the highest industry standards. Projects include hyperscale and enterprise data centre developments ranging from 50MW to 200MW+ , supporting some of the most recognised operators in the industry. Key Responsibilities Develop and lead commissioning strategies across major data centre programmes. Manage all commissioning activities through design, construction, testing, validation and handover phases. Coordinate commissioning consultants, contractors, vendors, client representatives and project stakeholders. Review design documentation to ensure systems are fully commissionable, maintainable and operationally ready. Lead commissioning planning workshops, readiness reviews and project milestone assessments. Drive Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning processes. Lead Functional Performance Testing (FPT), Systems Integration Testing and Integrated Systems Testing (IST). Manage witness testing, client acceptance testing and operational validation activities. Identify commissioning risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain programme delivery. Ensure all commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project schedules. Oversee commissioning documentation, turnover packages and handover deliverables. Provide regular reporting to senior leadership teams and client stakeholders. Support energisation, startup and transition into live operational environments. To be considered Experience leading Integrated Systems Testing (IST). Experience working within a structured Commissioning Excellence (CX) or equivalent commissioning framework. Experience managing commissioning activities on large-scale mission-critical projects. Eligibility to work in USA. Highly Desirable Direct experience within recognised Commissioning Excellence (CX) frameworks. Hyperscale data centre experience with operators such as AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta or equivalent. Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering. Chartered status (CEng, IEng) or equivalent professional accreditation. Why Join?
