Teacher, Grade 6 – Darby Vassall Upper School Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts Starting Date: Sep 1, 2026 Job Overview Darby Vassall Lane Upper School is a vibrant 6-8 middle school, part of the Cambridge Public Schools. We are committed to collaboration and creating environments that enable all students to learn at high levels. We are mindful of societal inequities and work to challenge injustice. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with all team members, including but not limited to special educators, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, interventionists, and other support personnel. Support students in using technological tools, including Chromebooks, and Google Docs. Incorporate a variety of assessment strategies, including district-wide exams and formative assessment, to inform instruction and target intervention and enrichment needs. Integrate social learning into the classroom to foster a safe, caring, and active learning community. Partner with families and include them in the students’ learning and development, and encourage families to further the mission of the school. Build on established partnerships with surrounding community institutions and organizations. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Massachusetts teacher certification/licensure required. Recent successful experience teaching middle school in a student-centered classroom with inquiry‑based methodologies in an urban, multicultural setting.
