Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift Progressive Care Unit assignment requiring 2 years of cardiac tele experience and an OR RN license.

Details

Cardiac IMC unit within a short-term acute care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level I Trauma Center status

Patient population includes cardiology (ACS, NSTEMI, HF management, pre/post cath care, arrhythmia management), EPS (pacemaker placement, arrhythmia management), cardiac surgery (CABG, valve replacement, TAVR), vascular surgery (amputations, fem-pop bypass), and advanced heart failure (pre/post transplant, VAD, inotrope support)

Patient ratio of 1:4

Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM), 36 hours per week

Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month

No on-call requirements

Floating required within scope to Acute Care/IMC units, including possible float to a nearby affiliate hospital

Uses Epic charting system

Safe Patient Mobilization equipment (ceiling lifts) available in most patient rooms

Requirements

Active RN license (Oregon or Compact) required; active OR RN license required for consideration

Current certifications: BLS and ACLS

Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required

Epic charting experience highly preferred

COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care across a range of cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and advanced heart failure cases

Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation

Scrub color may be any color with no prints; scrubs are provided

Parking requires a $16 daily pass (8am-5pm); public transportation is highly encouraged

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction

Pending license candidates accepted if application has been submitted to the licensing board, qualifying for a 90-day license exemption

RTO limited to a maximum of 5 days for a 13-week assignment or 7 days for an 18-week assignment; approved time off beyond 5 days requires extending the contract to complete a full 13 weeks

All time off requests must be submitted at the time of application

Former OHSU employees or previous travelers at OHSU must have a reference completed by their OHSU supervising manager

Candidates must be gone from OHSU for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
