Job Description Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) Island Smiles Dentistry – Dr. Hardik Patel Merritt Island, Florida Island Smiles Dentistry is seeking a friendly, dependable, and motivated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our growing private practice. We are a patient-focused office equipped with state-of-the‑art dental technology and committed to providing high-quality care in a welcoming, supportive environment. Our hygienists receive one‑hour patient appointments , providing sufficient time to deliver thorough care, educate patients, and build lasting relationships. Position Details Schedule: Monday through Thursday Hours: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch Compensation: $42–$45 per hour, based on experience Appointment Length: One‑hour patient appointments Experience: Minimum of one year of clinical dental hygiene experience preferred Paid Holidays: Eligibility begins after 90 days of employment Retirement Benefit: 401(k) eligibility after 12 months of employment with a 3% employer match Practice Management Software: Open Dental Modern, state‑of‑the‑art dental technology and equipment Supportive, team‑oriented private‑practice environment Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental hygiene services, including prophylaxis, periodontal charting, scaling and root planing, fluoride treatments, and radiographs Assess patients’ oral health and accurately document clinical findings Educate patients regarding oral hygiene, periodontal health, and recommended treatment Identify signs of periodontal disease and effectively communicate findings to Dr. Patel and the clinical team Maintain complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation in Open Dental Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection‑control, and sterilization protocols Help patients feel comfortable, respected, and informed throughout their appointments Work collaboratively with the dentist, dental assistants, and administrative team Support the office in maintaining an organized, efficient, and positive clinical environment Ideal Candidate Qualifications Current and active Florida Registered Dental Hygienist license Minimum of one year of clinical dental hygiene experience preferredCurrent CPR/BLS certification Local anesthetic license is a plus Experience with Open Dental software is preferred but not required Strong knowledge of periodontal disease, treatment planning, and patient education Excellent clinical, communication, and time‑management skills Gentle, thorough, and compassionate approach to patient care Dependable, professional, punctual, and organized Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation Ability to work independently while remaining a supportive team player Comfortable using digital dental technology and learning new systems Dedicated to building trusting, long‑term relationships with patients Proactive, “go-getter” attitude and commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience If you are an enthusiastic dental hygienist looking for a long‑term opportunity with a modern, privately owned dental practice, we would love to meet you. #J-18808-Ljbffr HARDIK PATEL DDS PA
